A decade back then, I could drink the tap water directly from my home. But slowly, the world has changed. First, the water got smell. Then, it was mixed with colours. Now, I can no longer consume the tap water anymore. And yes, this is because of water pollution.
When water in the atmosphere mixes with certain chemicals – particularly sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides emitted during the burning of fossil fuels – mild acidic compounds are formed.
